Electric Supply to Remain Disrupted in Numerous Districts This Saturday in Bangladesh

Power supply will be interrupted in several districts, including parts of Joypurhat, Bogura, and Rangpur, on Saturday (November 8) due to tree trimming and maintenance work by NESCO. Power cuts will last up to 9 hours in some areas. NESCO has apologized for the temporary inconvenience.

Due to the trimming of hazardous tree branches and essential maintenance work, electricity supply will be interrupted in specific areas across several districts of the country on Saturday (November 8). This includes parts of Joypurhat and Bogura districts, while multiple areas in the Rangpur division will also experience extended power outages.

In separate announcements issued on Thursday (November 6), the Northern Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) confirmed the planned power suspension.

According to the notice, electricity in Rangpur will remain unavailable from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The affected areas include: from the substation to Masterpara, Adarshapara Eidgah ground, Kamarpara Kutubia Mosque, Senpara Traffic Office, Guptapara Puja Mandap, Jhontur Mor, Fire Service Mor, Shalban Indrara Mor, Shialur Mor Nasari, Shalban Hazir Khamar, up to the eastern side of the Jute Mill, Mulatol Thana, Guptapara, Lines School, and Fire Service Mor.

The Joypurhat Sales and Distribution Division reported that due to the cutting of risky tree branches near the 11 kV line, power supply will remain suspended on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (a total of 7.5 hours) in the following areas: Gulshan Mor, BADC Mor, Saheb Para, Stadium Road, Rupnagar, Tajur Mor, Nishir Mor, Baridhara, Master Para, Sugarmill Road, Thana Road, Station Road, Shantinagar, Pachur Mor, Kashia Bari, Bishwas Para, Kabiraj Para, Hili Road, the southern section of Sadar Road near the CO Colony (from Pachur Mor), Upazila premises, Chamragudam Road, and adjacent neighborhoods.

Similarly, the Bogura Sales and Distribution Division-3 announced that to carry out tree-branch trimming near the Old Bogura 11 kV Phultala feeder line, electricity will remain disconnected from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday in the areas of Chilimpur, Medical Road, Malgram Dakshinpara, Kaigari, Homeopathic College, and Phultala.

NESCO has apologized for the temporary power interruption caused by the urgent maintenance activities.
