Pakistan Navy ship PNS Saif arrived in Bangladesh on a four-day goodwill visit to enhance bilateral naval cooperation. The ship was warmly welcomed at Chittagong Port by senior Bangladesh Navy officials and representatives from the Pakistan High Commission. During its stay, the crew will engage in official meetings, cultural exchanges, and visits to naval bases and historical sites. Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Saif Arrives in Bangladesh on Four-Day Goodwill Visit
The Pakistan Navy’s guided-missile frigate PNS Saif has arrived in Bangladesh for a four-day goodwill visit, aimed at strengthening naval cooperation and enhancing bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
The ship reached Chittagong Port on Saturday (November 8), where it received a warm reception from the Commander of the Chittagong Naval Area, senior officers, and sailors of the Bangladesh Navy. Representatives from the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka and several high-ranking Bangladeshi naval officials were also present at the port to welcome the visiting crew. Marking the occasion, the Bangladesh Navy band performed a traditional musical salute in accordance with long-standing naval customs.
Earlier, as PNS Saif entered Bangladesh’s territorial waters, it was ceremonially received by Bangladesh Navy Ship (BNS) Shadhinota, reflecting the close professional ties between the two naval forces. Officials from both sides expressed optimism that the visit would further promote mutual understanding, maritime diplomacy, and regional cooperation.
During its stay in Bangladesh, the ship’s Commanding Officer and members of the Pakistan Navy delegation are scheduled to pay courtesy calls on the Commander of the Chittagong Naval Area, the Commander of the BN Fleet, and the Area Superintendent Dockyard. These meetings are expected to focus on matters of maritime collaboration, training exchange, and operational cooperation.
In addition to the official engagements, officers, sailors, and trainees from PNS Saif will visit various historical landmarks and tourist attractions in Chittagong, as well as several Bangladesh Navy ships and bases. Reciprocal visits by Bangladeshi naval personnel to the Pakistani vessel have also been arranged, fostering greater professional and cultural exchange.
According to the Pakistan Navy, PNS Saif will conclude its goodwill visit and depart Bangladesh on November 12, following a series of joint activities and interaction programs designed to strengthen the spirit of friendship and maritime partnership between the two nations.
