Trump Says Hamas Will Be Disarmed — “By Force If Necessary,” After Meeting with Argentina’s President

President Trump declared on October 14 that Hamas must be disarmed and warned the U.S. will use force if Hamas refuses to relinquish weapons. The announcement came during a White House meeting with Argentina’s President Javier Milei; U.S. envoys have also reportedly met directly with Hamas representatives.

U.S. President Donald Trump said that Hamas will be disarmed, adding that force will be used if the group refuses to surrender its weapons. He made the remarks on Tuesday (October 14) during a meeting at the White House with Argentine President Javier Milei.

“We have said it before: they must lay down their arms. If they do not agree, we will do it as quickly as possible,” Trump said. “If necessary, they will be disarmed by force. They promised me they would be unarmed.”

Separately, U.S. envoys have reportedly held direct talks with Hamas leaders — the highest-level contact between the two sides to date, according to officials familiar with the discussions.
